The Lantana plant is commonly found growing throughout central and South Florida. This is a versatile plant that grows well along fences, as a border plant or as a shapely hedge or bush. These plants are beautiful to look at and come in the colors of yellow, orange, pick, purple and other warm shades and combination As an added bonus they attract bees and butterfly's in large numbers. I really get a kick out of watching theses bugs feeding on the flowers sweetness. Where I live the lantana grows like a weed without any care on my part. This plant is actually weed which explains why it grows so rapidly. It has been said that it is an invasive plant that will take over the area where it has been planted. Yes, it does grow wildly, but I haven't had any problems maintaining its growth. One thing you should know about the Lantana Plant is that it is toxic to pets and people if ingested. SO if you have either of them living at home watch them closely.
