The best of all jasmine plants: The Night Blooming Jasmine

If I were allowed to grow only one plant in or outdoors, it would have to be the Night Blooming Jasmine. I’ll be the first to tell you it’s not the prettiest plant as far as its foliage is concerned. It’s kind of scraggly plant and it certainly won’t win any awards for its appearance. It’s the tropical, heavenly scent that just blows me away. Just a few flowers is enough to blanket an entire landscape with a sweet perfume that, in my opinion, is the most wonderful aroma I’ve ever came across.
As the name suggests, the opening of flowers and the release of its perfume occurs only during the night time hours. The jasmine flowers are small and trumpet/tubular in shape. I’ve seen large night blooming jasmines have thousands of flowers opening at once. The aroma of this jasmine will stick in your mind long after you first encounter this plant. These jasmine flowers smell better than any other jasmine or gardenia plant I’ve come across.
If you find yourself in possession of the night jasmine and want to plant it in the ground, here is a useful tip. Place it at a location near a door, window or other location where you frequently spend time. Doing so will fill your home with a heavenly scent lasting all night long and, it’ll shock and delight any who stops by for a visit.
