A riding lawn mower gives your lawn a cleaner cut and neater appearance, while saving you muscle pain and joint stiffness
A riding lawn mower is similar to an All-terrain vehicle. However, unlike an ATV, the riding lawn mower trims down the grasses that come its way. It does this because in the first place, these lawn mowers are designed specifically for such purpose. Also unlike any other types of lawn mowers, the ride-on mowers are easier and more efficient in doing its job because they are simply faster and cover more area. Mower’s engines are said to be the source of life. Their strength is measured in horse power, which is dependent on the mower’s size.
These mowers vary in sizes. Also, their physical size determines the size of their decks, or blades in layman’s term. Despite that, however, all riding lawn mowers have similar parts.A riding mowers engine comprises of bushings, fuel line, bolts, washers, screws, nuts, clamps hose, and more. Engines of these mower come in single-cylinders allowing for rear driving, and v-twin engines featuring a power zero-turn radius. Mower deck blades—these blades, functioning as grass cutters, are tough and securely connected underneath the deck. Blades have different sizes from twenty inches to fifty-two inches, and there can be different numbers of blades in a mower. Rimmed tires—all in all, a riding lawn mower have four steerable tires with one pair in front and at the back. Generally made of rubber, they have similar needs with a car’s tire—air and sometimes, replacement or vulcanization.
Battery are used to power up these mowers, a 12-volt battery would suffice and which is placed underneath the hood of the mower. A battery’s function is to start up the engine. When cared properly, it can last for up to four years. Transmission—making possible the shifting to different speeds is the task of transmission. In ride-on lawn mowers, the speeds include the reverse direction. This too is repairable and replaceable.Gas tank—keeping the gasoline for the mowers is the gas tank. Unless, it rusts, it rarely needs repair. Steering wheel—another part that does not require repair is the steering wheel, made of metal frame wrapped in hard rubber, like the seat. Seat—this portion is where the driver takes his position in maneuvering a lawn mower. Mower deck—it is made up of a huge metal deck, pulleys, guide wheels, discharged guard, belts, washers, springs, nuts, bolts, suspension arms, and more. After years of usage, it naturally wears out.
