PLease Help My Staghorn Fern

by Bob
(Titusville,fl)

Our very large staghorn fern was in a tree that the frost killed. the tree fell over from the weight of the plant. Can I now place the fern on a wire table under a citrus tree and will it grow there. The plant is quite large.

Answer: Sure, you can place it under the citrus tree. But I would consider planting the ferns new home under a larger tree such as a oak. If you place it under the fruit tree you may not be able to easily pick the fruit because of its size. Also fruit trees tend to attract fruit rats, which may damage the plant.

Good Luck
