No Bloom

I bought a bromeliad that had a beautiful Pink sword shape bloom. After awhile the bloom started to die. The whole bloom was brown. The stem the bloom was on died down too. So I cut the stem out. Now I have no blooms. Will it grow another stem and bloom? I have already gave away some pups and need to separate it again. I looks beautiful. The leaves are pretty and green.I just want to know if it will bloom again and what do I need to do.

Answer from: Different-Kinds-Of-Plants.Com

Bromeliads bloom once in their lifetime. However, some gardeners have reported repeat blooms yearly. This is not often the case, however. What will happen is the mother bromeliad will produce pups that eventually flower.

Since the bromliad grows in clusters, it is often hard to identify the pup from the mother plant. So, if you replant the pups they will grow new a new stem and eventually flower.

Hope this helps.

Take care
