Night Blooming Jasmine - Michigan

by Karen
(Michigan)

Question: How well will a night blooming jasmine grown in Michigan near Lake Michigan. Depending on the zoning map I look at some zoning maps say I am in zone 8 and others say I am in zones 2a - 7a. Will the Jasmine plant last if I plant it in a planter and bring it in during the winter months?.

Answer: Its worth a try. The night jasmine prefers the warm climate of zone 9 and higher. But that not to say it won't adapt to cooler a climate. The night jasmine can survive a freeze but you don't want to allow that to happen too often. Place you planter in a semi sunny location and care for it as if it were in the ground.

Best of luck
