Lawn Watering

Watering is the most important part of lawn care. When you properly water your lawn, you will be able to resist diseases and pests and ensure that your lawn is healthy and stress-free.

With the help of lawn watering systems , homeowners will be able to save money and conserve water while still maintaining a beautiful and healthy lawn.

Lawn irrigation schedule

Watering your lawn should be done in the evening or early in the morning. Lawn Irrigation system and sprinkles will allow you to have uniform coverage throughout the lawn.

On sunny, windy or hot days, a lot of water can be lost to evaporation. When that occurs, water will not reach the grass roots where it is needed most..

Lawn Sprinkler Setting

Make sure you have checked the settings of your lawn watering system. You will be able to have a beautiful, uniformed lawn when you water the grass evenly.

Place straight sided pans on your yard and turn on the irrigation system for a certain amount of time, to be able to see if you’re getting the same amount of watering coverage throughout the lawn.

See if all the pans got the same amount of water. Adjust the settings if one pan receives more water than another.

Know the Watering Requirement

With each type of grass, different amounts of water are needed. You will need more water for grasses like St.Augustine and Centipede than you need for Bermuda and Zoysia grass.

You don’t have to water your plants through a schedule, its better to water it according to its needs.

Sun and Shade Conditions

When grass is in full sun or full shade, watering is done differently. No matter the species, more water is needed for grass in the sun than is needed for grass in the shade. You should adjust irrigation heads accordingly. You will be able to conserve water and prevent the spread of disease.

Air Circulation

Grass needs air circulation. If you’re in a place with poor-air circulation, water your plants in the morning so that the blades of your grass will be able to dry out. You might want to think about using a fan to help with the circulation and prevention of disease.

Test Water pH

The water pH can affect the health of your grass. You can buy water pH testing kits at any hardware store. If you have used it and the results show that the pH balance is very acidic of alkaline in nature, the best solution is to amend the soil. It is easier to amend the soil than to change the pH level of the water.

Frequent Deep Watering

Lawns, trees, shrubs and desert cactus plants often use this watering technique. Your drought resistance will be built-up because this method promotes root growth.

Saturate the lawn with water until it has absorbed one inch deep and water it every 3-4 days. You will be able to be sure that your lawn will be healthy if you use this watering technique.
