Ladybug Attracting Herbs
Do you know that some ladybug attracting herbs can help make your garden blossom and flourish all year round? Making your garden as beautiful and inviting as it can be will never be achieved over night. Aside from racking your brains in thinking where to place plants and flowers to give your garden an amazing overall look, there is one very important thing that you need to remember. And that is to make sure that your own garden has a natural balance, which includes giving attention on how some insects behave and operate. Don’t worry. You do not have to be a super gardener to achieve the perfect balance of your garden. You only need to know that not all insects spell trouble when these little creatures have decided to live within your garden.
As a matter of fact, there are some beneficial insects that are good for your greens such as the adorable ladybugs. The idea here is to make it your goal that these beetles will not be outnumbered by harmful insects. It is best to encourage these ladybugs to house within your garden by planting attracting herbs. Once the ladybugs start working, then there will be no need to constantly purchase pesticides that may cost quite expensive. These garden insects work by feasting on the aphids (plant lice). Moreover, they have a very hearty appetite that eating sixty aphids per day is not enough. Other small insects and mites are also not spared from being eaten. Fennel is one of the herbs that you should plant in your garden. Fennel is a type of perennial herb that has aromatic smell on its flowers and seeds that draw many different kinds of insects in. In effect, such insects also attract the ladybugs to feed on them. Another ladybug attracting herb is the Fern leaf yarrow which belongs to the herbaceous perennial type. Its gray green leaves have a favorable appeal that draws beetles in. Fern leaf yarrows can bloom for a long period of time, thus making them an ideal plant in your garden. When choosing those herbs to grow in your garden, do not forget the short-lived perennial herb Dill. In companion planting, Dill is often used as it attracts lots of beneficial bugs with its aromatic umbrella flower heads. These are just a few of the ladybug attracting herbs that are very useful to the majority of gardeners. Since herbs are beneficial as pest control, be sure to plant some of them especially those who invite helper beetles.
