just a question

by kelly
(new york)

I just received a year old tree and it is growing and getting bigger everyday. But i have yet to see any flowers, so i was wondering when they usually begin to flower my tree is approximately a year and a half thanks for your time. I grow this tree indoors in the winter and put it out in the spring and summer.

Answer From Different Kinds Of Plants

When growing the Angel trumpet indoors here are some tips that will encourage the plant to flower.

For starters, the trumpet plant roots need plenty of space to expand.

The plant is a heavy feeder, so don't be too timid about over fertilization.

And be sure to provide the plant with plenty of water. Avoid using hose or tap water for the plant. In many cities chlorine, flouride and other chemicals are added to water supplies. Many plants are okay with this, the Angel Trumpet tends not to be one of them. Ideally, collecting rain in a barrel and using it on the plant is preferred.

Depending on the plant species expect to wait until the trumpet is 4- 5 feet tall before it blooms.

The trunk will swell to about an inch in diameter indicating blooming is not far off in the future.

Another indicator is when the plant forms a "y" off the main trunk.

Good Luck.

Take care
