Growing and caring for a jasmine sambac.

I have many jasmine plants throughout my property. Some of them include the confederate, night blooming, and Carolina jasmine. They all are beautiful and bring their own special touch to my backyard. However, the jasmine sambac is favorite of mine. I have it growing on a fenced kennel, which was used at one time for my dog. I picked up a few of theses jasmines from a nursery at a discounted price, because they were damaged. I tilled the ground adding Jungle Growth soil, homegrown compost and worm castings. Then I removed all the dead stems and leaves to allow new growth to develop. I watered the area for two weeks before placing them into the ground. I planted them in an area that receives 4-5 hours of sunlight. Now, about two weeks later I’m seeing new growth in the form of leaves, stems and flowers. The jasmine flowers are white and highly fragrant. You can smell them from several yards away under a light breeze. One of the nice features of this jasmine plant is that it blooms most of the year here in Sarasota, Florida. If you have a patio or deck where you like to spend time relaxing or entertaining that would be a good location for your jasmine sambac. I have never grown this plant in a pot but I’m told it will do okay under the right conditions.
