bromeliad plants

by shirlkeahey
(reno nevada usa)

The first time i saw a bromeliad my friend jan was at a bank in Reno when we walked by. I stopped dead in my tracks as there was about 20 of them, flowers all colors. My friend jan told me what they where and who much Ive been looking for them ever since.

My boyfriend bought my first one its a pretty little orange the leaves are shaped in the urn style. I got my second one yesterday when i went shopping at walmart the garden lady was going to throw several out.

I have a yellow one now i asked her what she was going to do the the plant (going to throw it out ) i asked how much she would charge me for the bromy (50 cents).

So i got a bromeliad for fifty cents and her flower is yellow at the top of the bud is split and one side is starting to open up just after getting her bed of rocks and water now that's a water bed my boyfriend didn't believe me when i told him how big or how tall they grow until he saw them at scolarys he now is starting to look for the different colors and styles they grow in.

He is now collecting exotic angle plants we have them arranged around the bromeliad. Ray likes to watch when I feed them their leaves move up and down ray said this is our hobby looking for bromys and angle plants and they complement each other very well cause there leaves are about the same on some of the bromys.
