The Bermuda seeds are not available in hybrid variants based on their mowing height, which usually ranges from half an inch and goes up to a couple of inches.

However, these hybrids don’t produce viable seed. So, one has to plant them via vegetative methods. The commonly available hybrids are Tiffine, Tifgreen,Champion, FloraDwarf, Tifdwarf, Midlawn and Midfield.

As compared to regular Bermuda, the hybrid variations have more resistance towards diseases. On the whole their turf density is also better. They tend to have fewer seed heads. There texture is softer and finer and has a favorable color too.

Overseeding of the grass helps in maintaining a greener appearance and color, even during the winters, if you plant another colder season grass variant with it.

Plant the seeds during early summer but if you are late in seeding, then opt for the dormant method using un-hulled seeds to get the best results.
