beginner growing rutabaga

I have planted rutabaga in my kitchen garden about 8 weeks back. The problem is that few of my plants have withered and one leaf if has large holes in it what should i do?

My 2nd question is that should I thin the plant to get well developed roots and how much time they will take to mature

I keep the plant well moisturized and temp here is high 25C and low 7C

please give detailed info and tips


Answer to growing rutabaga indoors:

First, wilting can be caused by too little water. On the flip side, too much heat or sunlight on a unhealthy plant may cause it wilt. For starters, I'd move the plant to a less sunny location and back off the watering a little bit.Water the plant thoroughly once or twice a week. The plant is already stressed out, so do more of the same things you have been doing is to going to help.

Now let us talk about thinning out the rutabaga. Are you growing them in the ground inside your kitchen? If so, thin them out to 6 inches apart. If grown in a container, just move the containers 6 inches apart. Make sure the soil has plenty of phosphorus for strong root development.
